Stone cairn lamps are one of my favorite projects. These table lamps are a great accent piece to any room. Use on an end table in your living room, desk in your office, or bedside table. They work well with a variety of lamp shades, from cloth to natural materials like cork and mica. Lamp with shade are near 20 inches high. Stone cairn is about 12 inches high. Stone finials make a great accent to finish off the project.
I’ve also made other accent lamps using hurricane style shades. Some of the shades are glass and others are metal. All use decorative filament LED bulbs. Using a larger stone or live edge wood base allows for inclusion of additional accents such as driftwood and pebble stacks.
